The Vacancy
About Us
The work undertaken by The James Hutton Group is at the top of the global agenda tackling problems such as the impact of climate change and threats to food, biodiversity, soils, and water security. The institute is in the process of installing a cutting-edge capacity building and engagement facility, which features an 80 m2 immersive space and an extensive set of interactive digital technologies (e.g. touch tables, virtual reality headsets, augmented reality goggles, robot, eye tracking equipment, as well as a professional podcasting suite). We are seeking a motivated individual to support the development of materials and facilitate staff capacity building in utilising the new technologies.
The Role
We are seeking a Virtual Technologies Facilitator to oversee the deployment of our new immersive technologies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and facilitation skills to enhance user experience, integrate new technologies, and ensure the suite is fully optimised for research and stakeholder engagement. A number of institute scientists have expertise in developing for and utilising specific technologies; a key role of the facilitator is to support the integration and further development of these research activities. The facilitator will work closely with scientific staff, the facilities manager and the events team.
